Wordless Wednesday - Drawing a Blank

Clear the cobwebs from my mind
Let the words flow from my heart once again

A thief came along
Copied and pillaged
Stole my desire, my drive,
My creativity

Hours upon hours
Years of memories
Words written with love
Composed into poems
Stories of my life ….  Not of his

Did he give birth to three baby boys?
Live through cancer and so much more?
Creative countless recipes
With pictures galore?

Even though his sites have been taken down
I’m left here wordless
Angry and torn

To all of you plagiarists
 Leave us writers alone
Go straight to hell
Get a life of your own

Dedicated to all the fantastic writers at  HubPages

From My Heart

Friday

I heard the news and my heart ached

I turned on the TV and I wept

These poor innocent children and teachers

The families and friends that are left behind

How could life be so unkind?

Monday

The first two burials began today

As the TV news flashed all the pictures of the children that were so brutally murdered

I sobbed as if I knew each and every one of them

What has happened to us that something such as this took place?

On a Friday in December in 2012

This is North America

This is not a war zone

One shooter is all it took to not only destroy these lives but to change the lives of everyone

Making parents and children fearful, just to go to school, just to walk down the street, just to play

There’s a saying that time heals everything

Time cannot possibly heal what has happened here

My heart goes out to everyone in Newtown Connecticut

A Christmas Haiku

Excited Children
Waiting to see what Santa
Leaves under the tree

White fresh snow falling
Stars twinkle lighting the night
Guiding nine reindeer

Milk and cookies left
Stockings are carefully hung
On this magic night

Darkness On The Street

Image by Susan Zutautas Copyright 2012 All Rights Reserved

It was a dark and foggy morning
Without a soul in sight

Peering out my window
It looked to be
The middle of the night

Eeriness lingered
Sending shivers down my spine
Surely ghosts were present
In the darkness outside

Street lamps shedding light
Through the murky
Blur of haze

No one dared to walk
This street
Where murder
Once took place
