My husband Al is seen here feeding a wild deer that lived at a Kids Cancer Camp in the Muskokas.  Al was doing renovations last March and whenever he'd take a break he would go outside and pet or feed Flicka the deer.

Coffee on Wordless Wednesday

I've always been a fan of dark chocolate and dark roasted coffee. Up until this past week I wouldn't give Folgers a second try.

I was in Walmart the other day and saw that Folgers was on sale. I needed coffee and saw that they had a dark roast available. Previously I'd only ever tried their regular blend and didn't think much of it. I always like to give not only people a second chance but products as well if I think they're worthy of one. Since I was talking to my sister one day online and she'd said she liked Folgers so I bought it.

The verdict is in and I do like their Black Silk dark roast. Are you a dark roast fan? What kind of coffee do you like?

Wordless Wednesday and Pear Spice Pound Cake

I don't bake a lot of cakes but when I do I like to share where I got the recipes from. This recipe is on a friends site called +Glimmer Creations.

This would make a great addition to desserts on Thanksgiving or Christmas since it has a cranberry glaze. The glaze gives the cake a wonderful taste.
